Project Site/Location: Bhalumara-3, Marin, Sindhuli (Province no. 3)

Project Period: July 15, 2020- December 31, 2022

Project Objective:

The overall objective of the intervention is to achieve an improved standard of living of climate vulnerable rural communities in South Asia by integration of local sustainable solutions that contribute to climate change mitigation, adaptation and resilience building. The immediate or specific objectives are as follows.

  • To improve the livelihood of project rural communities through the establishment of Eco-Village Development (EVD) model villages in all partner countries including Nepal.
  • To enhance additional market access and business opportunity to appropriate solutions contributing to improved livelihood, climate change mitigation and adaptation for the project local communities and stakeholders.
  • To disseminate EVD concept as low carbon local development solution such that EVD is recognized by a broader audience reaching from local to national and finally to the international level.

Primary target group (beneficiaries):

The people whose living conditions the intervention aims to improve are:

Villagers from model eco-village

507 persons Male: 256 Female: 251

Nearby villagers - by replication of SEM model

approx. 200 HHs from 3 villages

Villagers - replication from other CSOs

A part of our dissemination strategy is to share our experiences and methodologies with other CSOs via seminars/webinars and network meetings and have them replicating the activities in their own programs or projects. A specific number of how many will be affected is now too early to say. But we will monitor this as well.
